16th Annual Flight Operations Conference in London

The 16th Annual Flight Operations Conference in London, provided a chance to celebrate Jekta’s partnership with Yonder as it continues development work on the PHA-ZE 100 amphibious electric flying boat and, perhaps more importantly, encouraged me to think about the wider importance of IT and digital media in the aviation industry.

It was an honour to participate in the 16th Annual Flight Operations Conference in London last week. It provided a chance to celebrate Jekta’s partnership with Yonder as it continues development work on the PHA-ZE 100 amphibious electric flying boat and, perhaps more importantly, encouraged me to think about the wider importance of IT and digital media in the aviation industry. From its Swiss headquarters, Jekta employs a geographically diverse team of experts working through connected systems as though they share an office. It’s a system that allows team members to work from their homes if they wish, wherever they live, saving on journeys into the office and contributing to a healthy work-life balance. Aviation is already struggling to recruit smart young minds, and that problem will only become more acute if we fail to realise the full potential of data and IT systems. We find ourselves competing with tech giants for the brightest brains and we must deliver the digital opportunities and life balance future colleagues expect. If we can also enthuse them with our passion for aviation, then we create a truly sustainable future for our industry.
