PME – Jekta leads the way towards zero-emission amphibious aviation

Based in Payerne, the start-up Jekta Switzerland is innovating with the PHA-ZE 100, a 19-seater electric amphibious aircraft capable of landing on land and water.

Based at the Aeropole in Payerne (VD), Jekta Switzerland is developing an electric-powered amphibious aircraft capable of operating from paved, unpaved, and aquatic runways. The company has already designed aircraft airframes, meaning their main structures, which are now used worldwide. “We realized that the time had come to revitalize the amphibious aircraft sector,” emphasizes CEO George Alafinov. “Operators are currently limited to aircraft designed and developed over sixty years ago. These are excellent machines, but their aging and sustainability call for their replacement with modern aircraft.
