Jekta selects ZeroAvia’s hydrogen fuel cell system for the PHA-ZE 100, enabling extended range, higher payload and zero-emission amphibious operations, as both companies advance hydrogen infrastructure for regional aviation

At the Farnborough International Airshow, Jekta announced that it has selected ZeroAvia’s hydrogen-electric fuel cell system to power a future variant of the PHA-ZE 100 amphibious flying boat. The collaboration will enable Jekta to offer operators two propulsion options—battery-electric for short-range routes and hydrogen fuel cell for longer missions. ZeroAvia’s PGS is expected to extend the aircraft’s range to 500–600 km and increase payload capacity by up to one tonne, while also reducing long-term operating costs. Already testing its hydrogen-electric ZA600 powertrain on a 19-seat aircraft, ZeroAvia brings extensive experience in fuel cell development and hydrogen infrastructure. Together, the companies aim to accelerate zero-emission amphibious aviation and prepare the necessary refuelling ecosystem to support regional adoption
